Road Train

Make the most of your day in York by taking our quick, convenient road train between the museum and the Minster.

Arrive at the museum in style and return to the centre of York with ease after your fun-filled day.

Please buy your tickets from the guard.

TIMETABLE

  • Leaves the museum every 30 minutes, 11.00–16.00
  • Leaves Duncombe Place (York Minster) every 30 minutes, 11.15–16.15

AVAILABILITY

While we make every effort to keep our road train running, the service is subject to availability and maintenance work. Road Train is subject to a vehicle special order and we are unable to change our existing route between the National Railway Museum and Duncombe Place, next to York Minster.

Please note the Road Train will not be operating between Monday 4 to Friday 22 March 2024.

Accessibility

Road Train is wheelchair accessible, using a ramp on the rear carriage. However, use of the ramp is at the guard’s discretion and space for wheelchairs and buggies cannot be guaranteed during busy periods.
