National Railway Museum

Whatever your position, if you manage volunteers this is the conference for you.

We are pleased to be working with the Heritage Volunteering Group to host Heritage Volunteering 2019: Leading at All Levels.

Now in its fourth year, the annual Heritage Volunteering Group conference brings together volunteer managers and volunteers from across the heritage sector to explore the issues affecting volunteering today. In 2019 the theme is Leading at All Levels.

Whatever your position, if you manage volunteers this conference is for you. With speakers and workshops from Science Museum Group, The National Trust, Canal & River Trust and The Museum Association the event will help you become a better leader of volunteers. The event will also host the Heritage Volunteering Group’s Volunteer Manager of the Year Awards.

We will also be running a pre-conference social here in York on the evening of 9 May (please book a place to attend) and you can enjoy a private tour of the museum with one of our amazing volunteers on the day of the conference.

DISCOUNTED TICKETS FOR VOLUNTEERS

We know that conference fees can be a barrier for volunteers being able to attend conferences.  That’s why this year we are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of discounted tickets for volunteers.  To access our discounted £10 tickets please email Emma.Faragher-Smith@railwaymuseum.org.uk stating the name of your organisation, the volunteer who would like to attend and why, if possible with a link to your website.  You will be issued with a special code to access discounted tickets.  Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
