Easter holidays

This Easter we'll inspire your little ones to think like engineers in our range of fun, thought-provoking activities.

What's on for Easter 2022

Railway Creations 

In this fun making activity your mini engineers can design their own railway creations from everyday recyclable materials, inspired by the museum collection around them.

Available 11.00–15.00.

Mystery boxes

Join our Explainers and reveal the history behind some of the most interesting and peculiar items from our collection.

Available 11.00–15.00.

Conservation in Action

Get up close to our Conservation team in action, as they work on our world-famous collection. Visitors are welcome to ask questions about the items as well as other conservation work around the museum.

Note: Only available on certain days during Easter half term. Dates and times are subject to change.

Object Hunts 

Discover engineering marvels and explore the museum at your own pace with these fun (and free!) activity trails.

Build a Locomotive 

Learn how steam engines work in this fun making activity. Build your very own LEGO steam locomotive that you can take home with you.

£5 per child. Sessions last 20-30 minutes. This event will be on for one day only (Saturday 16 April), so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Miniature Railway

Climb aboard and experience the railways in small scale on our fantastic miniature railway ride.

£3.50, free for under-2s. Tickets are limited and in high demand.
