Tell us what you think of the design concepts for our new Central Hall building.
Our exciting plans for 2025 include a new Central Hall building, a stunning space which will unify our museum and make for a more cohesive visiting experience.
Come and see the design concepts produced by the five world-class architectural teams shortlisted and tell us what you think of them. These aren't final designs, though—merely a showcase of ideas to give you a feel for the ambition of the project.
If you can't make it to this exhibition in Great Hall, we've included a gallery of the concept designs further down this page.
You can also view the designs on competition organiser Malcolm Reading Consultants' website.
If you'd like to share your thoughts on the designs, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
As well as the free-to-enter exhibition, we’ll also be hosting two public events where you can meet museum colleagues and ask questions about the designs. Just drop in on:
Wednesday 26 February, 16.30–19.30
Saturday 7 March, 14.00–16.00
This exhibition shares some ambitious ideas for the museum’s new Central Hall and is not a part of public engagement for the York Central development and changes to Leeman Road. More information on upcoming York Central public events.
