Access all areas for a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the museum in an exclusive, curator-led tour.
You'll be welcomed by one of our expert curators as you enter the museum before it opens to the general public.
First stop is the museum's Workshop where you'll witness restoration work and engineering marvels first-hand, as well as experiencing the sights and smells of the prep bay where locomotives are conditioned for mainline service.
The tour then continues in the art store and archives, where you'll encounter some fascinating collection objects with unique stories to tell, including the original drawing of Trevithick’s first locomotive and the British Rail Flying Saucer.
The tour ends at 10.30 in the café, where freshly baked pastries, tea and coffee will be served.
