This immersive workshop allows students to discover the role of ambulance trains in the First World War.
Students will participate in up to three activities:
- an interactive human-sized board game in which students discover the problems that passengers on ambulance trains had to overcome to get back to Blighty
- an immersive audiovisual experience created in collaboration with York Theatre Royal, giving accounts of an ambulance train from the perspective of a doctor, a nurse and an injured soldier
- the chance to explore our Ambulance Trains exhibition
We are looking to trial this programme with Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4 teachers. If you’re interested in taking part, please email us.
