Book an educational visit

Please note: From 18 March until further notice, the museum is temporarily closed (read the full statement).

Fill in the form below to request an educational visit to the National Railway Museum.

We will process your request as a confirmed booking and send confirmation by email, or contact you if we need to discuss anything. Once we process your request your organisation will be liable for the cost of any charged activities that you have asked us to include.

If you are requesting more than one visit, please submit a separate form for each date.

Which activities would you like to include in your visit?
You may choose to include up to three sessions.

See Schools Programme for details of schools sessions, shows , workshops and charges. The following activities require pre-booking. Booking terms apply for all charged activities.
Do you require minibus parking?
We no longer offer coach parking, but we can offer limited free parking for minibuses.
Lunch and goody bags

Would you like to book packed lunches?
Our in-house kitchens can provide packed lunches ready for collection at break time. Prices start from £5.00 including sandwiches, drinks and fruit, as well as some tasty treats.
Would you like to include goody bags?
Our gift shop can supply ready-made goody bags for your visit for a small charge.
Would you like to book tickets for our miniature railway?
An optional ride on our Miniature Railway is available to school parties for £30 per train and can accommodate up to 30 people. The ride lasts 7–8 minutes. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. Between April and October rides are available between 10.30 and 17.00.  Between November and March rides are available from 10.30 to 12.45 and 13.15 to 16.00, subject to weather and staffing.
Would you like to book tickets for the Mallard Experience simulator?
An optional ride on our Mallard Experience simulator ride is available to school parties at a discount rate of £1.50 per child and adults go free. The ride lasts 5 minutes and can seat a maximum of 12 people at a time.
The National Railway Museum is a public place and it is a condition of booking that group leaders remain with their group at all times to supervise them. Please confirm that you accept this requirement.
