Flying Scotsman will be running tours and on static display at this heritage railway set in the spectacular Scottish Highlands.
Strathspey Railway offers an unforgettable opportunity to ride behind this legendary locomotive. Flying Scotsman will be launching the Steam Gala, running on Friday 15 September.
On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, Flying Scotsman will be on static display in light steam, attached to the LNER Coronation Beavertail observation car, where visitors will have the rare opportunity to walk through the corridor tender and visit the footplate. Flying Scotsman will also be running tours on 23, 24 and 30 September and 1 October.
Setting off from Platform 3 at Aviemore station, through to Boat of Garten and on to Broomhill, the railway takes you on a 20-mile round trip through moorland, woods and alongside the meandering River Spey against the stunning backdrop of the Cairngorms.
Brought back to life in 1978 by a dedicated group of volunteers, this restored section of the original Highland Railway mainline enables you to travel back in time to an era when steam whistles blew, carriage doors slammed shut and there was a familiar click-clack rhythm of the rails, as the train travels along the track.
Make sure you book your tickets for this special visit.
