Programme submissions

Do you have a great idea for an exhibition about the past, present and future of railways or the beauty of engineering? Find information on the type of proposals we are currently seeking and how to submit your ideas.

Our mission is to inspire futures. One of the ways we do this is through a diverse programme of temporary exhibitions, installations, and immersive experiences. The National Railway Museum explores the past, present and future of innovation on the railways.

To ensure that each exhibition or display is of the highest quality, mutually beneficial, and fits with our strategic plans, we work to several criteria. Each proposal will be judged against the Science Museum Group’s Mission and Values, the Group Exhibition Strategy, as well as the National Railway Museum’s site-specific criteria.

Explore the information below to see if your exhibition proposal fits with our priorities.

Exhibition criteria

Home to iconic locomotives and an unrivalled collection of engineering brilliance, the exhibition spaces at the National Railway Museum celebrate human endeavour and achievement.
