George Stephenson notebook goes on display at National Railway Museum
A notebook from 1822 which outlines George Stephenson’s redesign of the Stockton and Darlington Railway has been discovered in Network Rail’s archive in York and is now on display in the National Railway Museum's Highlights exhibition until 28 December.
John Page, the records assistant who uncovered the item, said it had "sat on a shelf unnoticed" among other historical documents since the 1950s.
